Confessing the Faith in the Church of England Today
The New Testament urges Christians not merely to confess their sins before God, but also to confess their faith before men. Beckwith takes both an historical and contemporary look at the value of ‘Confessions’ (statements of faith). He considers why such confessions may be worthwhile, their value in bringing unity, and potential to divide. Roger Beckwith was librarian and warden of Latimer House, Oxford for more than thirty years. His recent books include Elders in Every City (2003) and Calendar, Chronology and Worship (2005).
